Drawing from an ancient illustration in Pompeii, the work reimagines Saint Anne through layered mark-making that echoes the texture and wear of the original. There’s a sense of continuity in the way the figure is held, as if time has passed through the surface rather than erasing it, allowing past and present to sit alongside one another.
